When do prisoners wrongs end, and their rights begin?

Benny Lee | TEDxNaperville | Published November 30, 2018

In this TED Talk we see Benny Lee tell his compelling story beginning when he was a fourteen-year-old gang leader in Chicago, to decades of his imprisonment, to his participation in a drug treatment program and to his pursuit of employment and education resulting in his profession now as an adjunct professor at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago.

Mr. Lee details his challenges – collateral consequences  – as a formerly incarcerated convicted person, his inspiring conquest of these challenges and his continuing work to assist and encourage others facing these same challenges through NAEFI – National Alliance for the Empowerment of the Formerly Incarcerated – the organization he founded.
