These included books that offer timely advice like Kimberly Ann Johnson’s The Fourth Trimester – a postpartum guide to healing your body, balancing your emotions & restoring your vitality; T. Berry Brazelton M.D.’s Touchpoints, a book which predicts and identifies the 13 most challenging behaviors of children birth to three and offers “anticipatory guidance” to help caregivers prepare for and deal with these effectively. Books and other items offering hope and delight to newborns and their adults alike included Emily Winfield Martin’s book The Wonderful Things You Will Be – inspiring dreams of hope for baby’s future; Baby Einstein™ “Activity Arms Octopus,” a multi-sensory discovery clip on toy for baby buggies, portable cribs, and car seats; as well as the ever popular colorful newborn caps, personally crocheted by Kiwanis Club of LakeView member Dayle Murphy.
Our participation in this program is made possible through the generosity of our partner Kiwanis Club of Lake View, Chicago, IL in alignment with Kiwanis International’s Young Children: Priority One initiative.
